Show Notes

Dr. Jennifer Lavers goes to the most remote islands in the world to find plastics to figure out how this impacts wildlife and humans. She is a marine eco-toxicologist with expertise in tropical and temperate seabird ecology, plastic pollution (marine debris), invasive species management, and fisheries by-catch.  She supervises a large number of graduate students in Australia and abroad working on a diverse array of projects.

Learn more about Jenn's research  at Adrift Lab in Sydney Australia.

Jenn shared some amazing resources in this episode. She encourages all people to find their Zero Waste communities and how they can get involved. She belongs to Zero Waste Tasmania. There is also Plastic Waste Australia Networks. Here is a great article by the Sydney Morning Herald about five organizations in Australia who are dedicated to reducing, reusing, and recycling plastic.
