Episode 014 - 3 Ways to create ABUNDANCE for your project and your life
Show Notes
The excitement about doing something good in the world is the same passion that keeps conservationist going. The drive to protect wildlife and our planet is something that even our children are actively stepping into - especially demonstrating their rights as heirs to our planet. Each year the number of concerned people grows - and our tribe becomes larger!
With all this positivity you might be thinking - why should I talk about mindset? And why is it important to shift our mindset? And if we do - what good will come of it?
In this episode I share why our undercurrent, looping negative mindset around lack is bringing more lack into our world. When we flip the script to abundance we will bring more resources, money, success to our conservation projects.
More often than not, when I work with clients the underlying issue is the lack of resources.
And that it takes a lot of time to do all the work needed to collect data, publish it, make recommendations to politicians, write laws, pass laws, then implement and monitor the law - and perhaps we make laws that in a few years are no longer applicable because the environment, people, or the world changes.
The comment that “There is never enough” spreads like a disease infecting conversations around the world, in the field, in the meeting rooms, at conferences, among friends, in grants, and from organizations both big and small… It is the lack mindset, fear, and ego talking. It is enforces a belief that you don’t get what you want, or perhaps even deeper you don’t deserve what you really want. You might find that not only is the lack of resources and money conversations looping inside your head but inside conservation organizations and even included in their belief systems.
To focus on the cure - not the cause tends to do away with the lack mindset. When you have pictures of habitat loss, shark finning, or poaching in your mind you create more - yet when you see yourself wealthy, abundant, healthy living in a world where biodiversity is thriving, humans are living peacefully, there is enough resources for every one and all things - you bring into the world an experience for all things to exist in abundance. To help bring awareness to the people who are causing damage to the world you must inspire them out of their own misery and lack mindset. By flipping the script and the “doing” or action taken in your life you inspire others.
If you want to protect wildlife you must demonstrate to others that they too can save wildlife. This means no project belongs to one organization, one researcher, one lab. In fact when one project rises up the ladder of success - with it creates opportunities for others to do so because you have proven that you are abundant opening the path way where there is plenty for you, your organization, your wildlife species, your team, therefore plenty for others. In fact the more people like you who get rich or live abundantly the better it is for others.
