Episode 057 - Suzie Marlow shares how Rogue Detection Dogs sniff out wildlife for conservation
Show Notes
Suzie Marlow is a bounder and research scientist for the Rogue Dog Detection Teams. She has the coolest job in the world - in my opinion! She gets to take her dog into the field to find wildlife tracks, scat, and more.
In 2019 I met another bounder Jennifer Hartman at the wildlife society conference in Reno, NV - from there I have been following their social media where they take followers on a tour of their projects alongside the detection dogs. I hope you will follow them and support their efforts.
In this episode Suzie takes us on a journey of becoming a bounder, life in the field with a dog, the ups, the downs, and how to travel abroad. She's done it all with her two rescue pups!
Rogue Detection dogs bring the conservation detection dog method to the forefront of scientific research by providing knowledgeable field teams and hands-on instruction for researchers, aspiring dog handlers, and citizen scientists to foster collaboration and community involvement.
Rogue Dog Detection Teams has a passion for wildlife, conservation and noninvasive survey techniques utilizing rescue-turn-wildlife-hero detection dogs. One of their missions to to share their passion with a wider community in the hopes of engaging the broader public in science and conservation initiatives.
